being presumptuous
okay, i just read something somewhere and well, i think it was subjected to a few people, inclusive of me. of course, it may not be such case, but me being presumptuous as usual, lets just assume it is. if it isnt, then well, just ignore my further ramblings in this post.
anyway, fyi, i like artificial cold air. and ive been sleeping with this aritificial cold air every night my whole life. i do not see the point in changing my habits for the sake of just one miserable person whos unsatisfied with it. in fact, i dare say everyone in my room has done so since the beginning of time. so bear with it. in case you forgot, malaysia is situated in the "khatulistiwa" region where it is usually hot and sunny. we do not get winter, and aircond works for us.
opening our windows is a completely ridiculous idea. it's easy to give ideas and whatnot, but have you ever tried to open our windows on a cold rainy day/night? obviously not, otherwise you wouldnt suggest so. its not like ive never tried to open the windows, it's impossible to open. the latch gets stucked and stops the action completely. anyway, even if the windows can be opened, why would i want to open it? letting what nonsense kinds of bugs fly in and bite me in the middle of the night. no thanks, im staying away from denggi. i'll admit, im not a nature person, well hello.. why do you think im living in the city???
if you really object to the idea of an aircond room, why did you choose to select a room with aircond in the first place. its not like we forced you to take the room. and the tenancy agreement clearly states that "any consumption of electricity in excess of the pre-set limit will be borne equally by the students residing in the air-conditioned rooms only." if u knew u were so anti-aircond since long time ago, why subject yourself to a situation where u know u'll have to pay for the excess electricity charges although you hardly use the aircond? i mean come on la, logically speaking, it's all stated in the tenancy agreement which you signed. again, we did not force you to sign it. why not get a room without aircond in the first place? i dont see anyone else complaining.
so basically, when u signed the agreement, you should have known what to expect. it's not like we turn on the airconds 24/7, which we very well could. in short, u are entitled to your own opinions, and so am i. and opening our windows is a no-no. u can go on complaining but it wont do a thing, so it's easier to save your energy. of course, if it makes u feel good, i wont stop you.. and since our windows are unopenable, i am sure you will understand, like u stated "(Of course, I understand that a room with no fan/unopenable windows is a different thing.)" just wanted to clarify that our windows cannot be opened (actually u can open it to a little minute slit but there are 3 people residing in this room and we would definitely lack oxygen). thats all i should say and thank you for your kind understanding.
